I was the lady in red today. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. What a perfect way to spend it too in this gorgeous red dress. My very first red dress that is. Not usually a colour I indulge in, but I’ve been in love with this for quite some time now.You might of seen me wearing the same dress in white a few weeks ago.So it’s quite obvious I have a definite dress crush. The weather has been so good lately. It makes life so much easier and nicer when the sun is shining. Everything becomes less hassle. From the school run to footie training, nothing seems to much trouble.
I wore the dress with gold, one of my favourite colours to add with a strong colour like red or black. It seems to compliment it nicely and I kept the sandals flat for my daytime look.

A girls girl kinda dress. White, lace and oh so sweet and pretty. How could you not love this.Well I certainly do. Its beautiful fabric is heavy and snug. Not an uncomfortable dress but something you can just slip on and wear with minimum effort. I would have on one every colour if I could. But I’m very happy to have just this one. Perfect summer time dress. Dressing it with heels, flats cardigans and sweaters it’s an ideal wardrobe filler. In-fact it’s centre piece for me. Special occasions or just a day out. It’s just lovely.Dawn xx
I was wearing Leather fringed jacket, Kate Moss X Topshop 2014 (These are similarhere, here &here) Jeans, River Island (Designer lookhere, High Street here) Top, H&M Boots, Saint Laurent ( Similar version here, High SThere) Bag, Ralph Lauren (Great high street version here &here) Sunglasses, Chloe
I love adding textures and details to an outfit in the simplicity of either leather, suede or fringing. Jackets and boots with a little detail are always great to have in the wardrobe. I’ve doubled up on fringing with my jacket and my bag today. I like the two colours together with the same fringe detail. An everyday jeans and vest outfit made a little more exciting with a few cool pieces. Suedeis such a great feature to bring into an outfit. It can be done in a subtle way or full out. Creating outfits can be lots of fun with some many lovely pieces to play around with. Anything from beach holidays to city breaks these kind ofjackets, bags and boots can be used in lots of different ways. Enjoy the weekend xx Dawn
Though I’m a softy for summer colours I’ve been adding lots of pieces to my wardrobe in these deeper tones. It’s so easy to over look these shades when your thinking of summer. But they look really good dressed up with gold accessories and denim. Belted at the waist is also a good way to style a jacket this season. This easy kimono styleis good for doing just that. Some jackets just don’t work with a belt . So make sure you get the right style so it flatters your shape.
Have a great weekend. xx Dawn
I think we all might of at one point or another invested in a pair of flares. Wether denim or cotton, it really doesn’t matter. It’s time to pull them out of the wardrobe and start styling them up ready for 2015. I love the strong 70’s influence for this year. The colours and cuts are modern but hold a great feel for that era. Gucci and Emilio Pucci have done an amazing job on capturing the feel for the 70’s. I wore these flares quite a bit last year, but this year the trend has really come on strong. So much atmosphere can be created with these cool and funky clothes. Enjoy the trend and add lots of colours and super cool accessories. Dawn xx
