Don’t you just love summer. Warm days that just feel so easy. Long lazy nights sat with a warm breeze and a cold drink. There’s definitely been a feel of summer these last few days. Dressing for summer can sometimes feel daunting. Having to unveil skin that hasn’t seen daylight for months isn’t the nicest feeling. It can sometimes feel awkward. Tops of legs and arms or the belly. Wearing cut out tops and shorts can feel alien to start, but it only takes a few days and everything feels natural again.
Preparing skin for summer sun can be an effort. But if you keep on top of it, you don’t need to be constantly worrying about it’s appearance. A good exfoliator is the key and I also like to use a coco butter to moisturise my skin as it’s longer lasting and really helpful at hydrating my skin. I’ve recently used the Charlotte Tilbury body balm and magic face cream. I have to say the results are amazing. My skin was instantly radiant with minimum effort. I always like to tan my skin with a little help from my favourite James reed mousse. Make sure skin is treated before applying-especially if its for a special occasion. I never exfoliate the same day as I tan. I always worry about damaging the skin then adding something to it that can aggravate it. So I allow at least 12 hours before I apply the tan. I always moisturise my ankles and hands after the tan to try and even it out. Bony areas are always a pain to get right. Big point to watch out for is washing hands after tanning. Don’t do it…well not for at last 30 minutes anyway. Gentle exfoliators are the best for the face, nothing too rough remember delicate areas need some TLC. Keep lips soft in the heat with a handbag size lip balm and I always think a eye serum is useful to use throughout the day to keep looking fresh and radiant. Happy pampering. xx Dawn
We had such beautiful weather whilst in London. I took full advantage and snapped a few pictures of this gorgeous black lace dress. A little bit cheeky with it’s sheer nature but I’m totally into this style. I love the look. It’s such a great piece for summer. Non crease and light weight which means it’s the perfect packable dress.Low maintenance-high impact
Packing for summer hols can be such a headache. No one wants to be ironing constantly but in the same breathe you want to look amazing on days/ nights out. Finding this kind of summer essential can make life and holidaying so much easier. It would also fit well in hand luggage. So if your not checking in a heavy case and your only away for one or two nights then this ticks all the boxes. Are you off anywhere nice..?
I’ve been in London for the Banana Republic event that I was co hosting with three other bloggers at the Regents street store. It was such a lovely evening. And I got to showcase my favourite summer essentials. If you follow me over on instagram you’ll see my dress from the event. It’s dreamy, and if your looking for a dress for an occasion I’d definitely give it a try. I’ll also put a post up of my outfit and of the night.
I’ve so many beautiful looks to post up so I’d better get a move on. Have a super long bank holiday weekend. xx Dawn
Slightly obsessed with the military trend at the moment. One of my favourite pieces has to be this army style jacket. I love the ruffled unfinished edges and the over-sized sleeve. It’s the perfect piece to throw over shorts or jeans. Easy for both day or night and a great travelling piece. I can imagine wearing it over a bikini or vest one evening on hols… here’s hoping. Combining it with scalloped edge shorts adds a double wham my of finishes. Have a great week. You can now find me over on snapchat. I joined last week. So I’d love you to come over and see me on there acting a little silly and having fun with my kids etc.Find me uunder dressmeperfect x Dawn
I’ve been searching around these last few months for a double breasted blazer – so I was more then happy when this one appeared from the Alexa Chung collection for M&S !! Teamed it here with this pretty cherry blouse ! One of my favourite pieces for the season. Keeping it on trend with the high collar & Victorian lace details. I love pretty things and things you can keep forever!! Valuable staple pieces are the key to new season shopping. Good jeans, jacket & tops!

When you find a dress that feels right. That’s not always the case for me as I’m not a dress person. Well not unless I had a wardrobe of dresses Like these. I love the fluidity and romantic feel. Sheer and delicate fabrics work best for the romantic theme. I love dreamy dresses. Also something versatile that can take you from day to night looking chic. Ideal for holidays and the summer season. A relaxed day with sandals over a bikini Or dressed up with strappy heels.
