THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS

The LITTLE BLACK DRESS is without doubt a ‘Must have’ piece for any woman’s wardrobe. I also think it’s a woman’s prerogative to have more then one hanging in her wardrobe at any one time. Well thats my excuse anyway. So with the party season fast approaching I thought I’d put together a few of my favourites from the hight street and a few little luxury ones for good measure. I like simple, loose fitting dresses. Something chic but comfortable. If I’m going out for dinner I like to be able to relax and enjoy my food without worrying if my belly is popping out at any given chance. I love dressing mine up with heels and fabulous jewellery. I’m definitely feeling the chunky pearl necklaces for the party season. Possibly with matching cuff for a real vintage feel. I’m also in love with anything that has lace.. always been my downfall. The embellished dresses around right now are beautiful too. It’s just so hard to choose sometimes. I kinda like mini when I’m out dancing but nothing too short and I never go to the floor unless it’s a ball. So what will you wear this party season……?

Took these pictures back at the end of august. Forgot to post them in the chaos of everything thats happened these last few weeks. It’s probably the last time I’ll get to wear my denim shorts. Well at least here in the UK. Unless I get lucky enough to get a holiday before the year is out then I’m sadly saying goodbye to a few of my summer pieces.
Obviously the silk cami is still wearable throughout the year layered under knitwear and coats. Can say I’m a little heady over these sparkling ballerina’s. Couldn’t resist them. I’m a sucker for footwear. I do love september and sometimes it’s a better month then August. There’s something about september days for me- it’s my favourite month of the year. I guess it’s the last month to hang out in the honey lit evenings. I’m most certainly a sunshine girl. Winter is not for me. I seem to whinge about being cold constantly. Though I do enjoy the winter fashions, I don’t excel in the field of heavy duty dressing.
I’ve been following all the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) pictures on the social networks and feeling pretty depressed at not being there. I got my first invite to new york this year but sadly couldn’t make it-still feeling sad about it. One of the dreams I’m working on fulfilling. Along with Paris fashion week. Hopefully one day ……

Without a doubt this is one of my favourite colour combo’s of the season. Pink and burgundy. Can’t get enough of it. From the extremity of the heavy burgundy to the softness of baby pink. Two complete ends of the spectrum that suit each other without any means for justification. Like hot apple pie and ice cream-it’s the perfect duo.Teamed a past season Acne jacket that is far too good to leave hanging in the wardrobe, with my new season Isabel Marant skirt and dolce & Gabanna vest. I love it when I find something from before that fit’s with something from the present. It’s always worth hanging onto quality pieces. You never know when you’ll need them again…

Hello.

Just a quick hello- I’ve not posted in nearly a week! I’m missing my blog but its been a really busy week for me. I’ve got a lovely post coming up- hopefully by tomorrow. Some new season pieces…
I’ve added a quick pic from my Instagram and you can see a few more from my week here. This one was a double filtered pic and I think it has an old Hollywood feel to it. I’ve gone for Glam glossy nails – in a burgundy which I know you can’t see properly here but they give a very glamorous feel to the image. Hope your all enjoying the summer xxx Dawn

(I’ve had to post this via iPhone – first time I’ve ever done it – quite useful but it doesn’t size the image correctly !! So apologises for any mistakes)

Madam Rage

I’ve been asked to take part in the madam rage dress challenge. I’ve had to choose a dress from the collection and style it in two ways. The first part of the challenege -dressing for a festival. So here’s my look. I’ve added tassled boots, leather jacket and an oversized bag. I’ve belted the dress with a fabric gold tone belt. Picking up the colours of the pink and gold vinatge print. The two deep front pockets and chain detail collar creates a lovely piece. An easy pull on, no extras needed kinda dress. Better still it’s under £30. You could get away with doing nothing to it and it still be perfectly suitable. I’ll be posting the second look up this week sometime so keep checking in for the second part of the challenge.
