Happy New Year !! How’s your first week been..? I’ve found it really hard to get back into life after Christmas. It was such a lovely time. But it’s back to January and to save me from the blues I’ve been looking at a few new arrivals. Couldn’t resist the satin look. I bought it and wore it within 24 hours, that’s always a good sign. Nothing worse then buying something and it just sitting in your wardrobe for weeks/ months untouched.
I adore the vintage feel with its lace finishes and gorgeous gold colour. I put it on and felt okay about January .. even if it was just for a day. I wore it with these velvet rose detailed mules. Which I thought suited the look. These are one of my favourite additions from the sales. If you follow me over on Instagram you’ll know I was lusting after these for ages. I like the robe and slipper look I’ve achieved here. Something a little different and I think it’s a nice way to get ready for Spring Forever the hopeful … Ha ha

So .. how was your Christmas? Hope you all had a wonderful day. I can’t believe it’s been already and it’s now boxing day. I do love the days after Christmas. Everyone is chilled out and there’s still lots of lovely food around and a happy atmosphere. I also love looking forward to the New Year. And the fact we will soon be in coming into Spring. I’ve really enjoyed winter this year. Helped by the beautiful clothing I’m sure. Christmas was fun and wearing lovely dresses and everything sparkly is always a treat. I do love the New Year. The best thing about it for me are all the new arrivals landing for the coming season. The sales are great but there’s nothing nicer then seeing all the pretty Spring/Summer clothing arriving. I’ve managed to get my hands on this gorgeous lace dress from the new season collection at Wallis. It’s the perfect dress to see me into the new year. I’ll be partying in it new Years eve and then adding it as my staple dress for the coming months. I’ve teamed it here with sandals ready to party but I love it with tights and boots too. I think I’ll layer it with a blouse as well. All the possibilities from one dress. I’ve always been a huge fan of lace as you probably already know. It’s one of my favourite trends. I pretty much team lace with anything. It’s a definite wardrobe essential for me.
Have you made any new years resolutions yet..? I usually go with the keeping fit one and the eating healthier one. But I’m little naughty at sticky to them.I find these ones the hardest to stick to. Maybe I should go with the buy more dresses option. I’ll do very well at that!!
The little black lace dress. The perfect holiday dress. The perfect everything dress.Wear it anywhere with anything. Sandals, shoes and boots. Everything goes when it comes to a dress like this.Pack it away lightweight in an over night bag for a weekend or week away . Rock up to a beach party or a dinner date. Ha ha the possibilities are endless.. As you already know I love lace so how could I resist this cute dress for my up and coming holiday.
Not too long to wait. The kids are breaking up soon.. seems to be dragging on and on. Can’t wait to enjoy our summer together as a family. I love spending time with my kids away. Enjoying the sea and all the outdoor fun. It only seems yesterday thy were digging sand castles for hours on end. Now they cliff jump and snorkel for sea life. It’s so much fun being with them and enjoying things for the first time. It’s a great break from watching you tube and playing x box. Limited wifi !! Hooray I get my kids back. And they get to enjoy time together. Life is so busy. So many sports clubs and work to fit into everyday life that its sometimes nice to just sit and do nthing. No rushing around, no crazy busy mornings or evenings. Just lazy days spent together. I’m so excited I could burst. I’ve not been away for a couple of years so I’m going to really enjoy it. I’m sure I’ll post lots of lovely images up here and over on my instagram. Have a wonderful week guys xx Dawn
We had such beautiful weather whilst in London. I took full advantage and snapped a few pictures of this gorgeous black lace dress. A little bit cheeky with it’s sheer nature but I’m totally into this style. I love the look. It’s such a great piece for summer. Non crease and light weight which means it’s the perfect packable dress.Low maintenance-high impact
Packing for summer hols can be such a headache. No one wants to be ironing constantly but in the same breathe you want to look amazing on days/ nights out. Finding this kind of summer essential can make life and holidaying so much easier. It would also fit well in hand luggage. So if your not checking in a heavy case and your only away for one or two nights then this ticks all the boxes. Are you off anywhere nice..?
I’ve been in London for the Banana Republic event that I was co hosting with three other bloggers at the Regents street store. It was such a lovely evening. And I got to showcase my favourite summer essentials. If you follow me over on instagram you’ll see my dress from the event. It’s dreamy, and if your looking for a dress for an occasion I’d definitely give it a try. I’ll also put a post up of my outfit and of the night.
I’ve so many beautiful looks to post up so I’d better get a move on. Have a super long bank holiday weekend. xx Dawn
Stepping out to a sun filled London street. Heaven. London is beautiful when the sun is shining. The ease of sandals and a slip on dress seem to fit perfectly. A little time out from reality and a wonder around the pretty streets of cafes and shops is time well spent.I’ve not had too much time this year to get to London as much as i should of. Been missing out on some great opportunities but my children’s growing commitments have taken first place. It’s been a wonderful year for them.Shining in School and in their chosen sports. Hopefully I’ll get a bit more time this summer to get here more often. Dawn xx
