I’m crazy about shoes that look like slippers. Especially when they are black velvet and even more when they have a cute bow detail. The joy of Spring brings the joy of wearing anything on the feet. Toes out, heels out, what ever you want. All that’s needed is a nice pedicure and it’s time to slip into something fresh on the feet. Thankfully it’s goodbye boots and hello to summer shoes. These kind look great with cropped jeans and of course mini skirts and shorts intact they look great with just about anything. Dress them up or down these are for sure one of my favourite styles for summer. Have a great week.
Military can sometimes be a little hard so I’ve softened the look with a few feminine touches of lace, tapestry and I’ve clinched in my waist with a wide velvet belt. Wide belts are top of my lust list at the moment. It’s probably one of my favourite ways to style up a look. Over jackets, cardigans or dresses. I’m sure it’s not the last time you’ll see me wearing a waist clincher like this one.
It was a pretty wet start to the day but it was brightened up with a lovely lunch and a handful of beautiful shows.
Prior to leaving the everyday juggling of family affairs occurred. That’s a military operation in itself. It can be a bit of a drama at times. But I guess it’s worth it when you get to enjoy a lovely day. Going to fashion week was always my goal when I first started my blog. I never stray to far away from my purpose. So I’m always happy to sit there and watch the front row antics and catwalk fashions. It’s a dream come true for me. A special day out that I really appreciate.
As a mother I often feel pulled in every direction especially when there’s so much to do and my family to consider. I sometimes feel I’m way to hard on myself. I love to achieve and do well in my work but I also love to be there everyday for my children. I sometimes need to be in four places at once. It’s a tough call at times and I often miss out on great opportunities so I can be there for my kids instead. That doesn’t make me sad but it can often feel frustrating. I guess I just want to be doing a good job all round for everyone. It’s a lot to take on at times. Women are doing so much these days. We fit into so many roles.I know men your do your thing too ( I praise you too). But the role of being a women has definitely changed and become a much bigger one. We are pretty super human in my opinion and I respect all that are doing their very best on a day to day basis. It’s not easy, so take five and be kind to yourself. Your doing a great job just being you.So on that note have a great week. Wear what you love and enjoy your life. xx Dawn
I’ve been searching around these last few months for a double breasted blazer – so I was more then happy when this one appeared from the Alexa Chung collection for M&S !! Teamed it here with this pretty cherry blouse ! One of my favourite pieces for the season. Keeping it on trend with the high collar & Victorian lace details. I love pretty things and things you can keep forever!! Valuable staple pieces are the key to new season shopping. Good jeans, jacket & tops!
I love this time of year. It’s been such a hectic few weeks. Lots been happening & a particular exciting project I worked on for TV too !! I’m so excited & can’t wait to tell you what it is but I can’t just yet !! It’s definitely worth a watch !!
The unexpected colour for Autumn.. these warm nudes. This has to be one of my favourite palettes. I’m not so worried about dressing too heavy as the weather is still so mild and days are still pretty and bright. Finding these delicate natural tones makes dressing for winter that little more exciting. Something different to the usual heavy colours. Bulking up on tonal works well for an autumnal look. I’ve added in a little animal print with my shoes to break the look up a little but they still work in well with the nude pallet. You could go with something more neutral on the feet to have a complete head to toe nude look. Something soft and gentle like these keep your autumn look fresh and exciting. Nothing too harsh just yet. The warm autumn makes living and dressing that little bit easier. The clocks have gone back which means dark nights are upon us… not something I like too much. Any excuse to get away with pretty colours and gorgeous dresses and I’m right there. Have a super week. xx Dawn
More of everything. Suede, fringing chains. Cut out tops and ruffled layered skirts. More is definitely more. I love the knee highs and mini skirt combo.I think it’s becoming one of my favourite looks for autumn. Turtle necks are also classic staple pieces for autumn. I love the cut out detailing. Gives a little edge to a pretty skirt. I got the skirt back in the summer but not had a chance to wear it until now. It’s great as it’s lovely with boots, heels and sandals. I love versatility in an outfit and these great pieces are some of my favourites. Either piled on together or worn as a statement piece in itself. Great pieces with fab detailing are a must to add a little glamour to your wardrobe. Dawn
