A dreamy show that was out of this world. The most beautiful silhouettes. All so pretty and perfect. There wasn’t a look I didn’t love. From start to finish everything was wow. Rich creamy creams, clean pretty plaits and dewy soft make up. The show oozed class and sophistication. Playful ruffles and tailoring gave the perfect balance to grown up dressing. A 80’s vibe ran through the show with a stunning version of the Ra Ra skirt. Over sized bows on dresses and jackets with shoulder pads. Those combined with plaits, peep toe trainers and duffle bags. I absolutely loved this collection.
A small selection from the Bora Aksu AW16 catwalk show that I got to attend at London Fashion Week. I loved the colour palette, from rich reds and plums to fairy soft pinks. The dramatic surrounds of the church played it’s perfect role in this gothic/victorian inspired collection. The glossy checker board flooring was effective in bringing each piece to life.Although the collection had an influence from the victorian era it was still very modern. With high necks, sheer fabrics, lacy collars and dropped waists. Not to be taken too seriously (the bonnets) but to be inspired by. To take the pieces you love and to work them into your look your way.
I always love his designs. So much thought put into every piece. It’s always an inspiration seeing these catwalk shows. It’s not to create the exact looks but to be inspired – to find a new way when you dress. Taking note of new season colour trends -colour mixing and for putting pieces together in different ways is what it’s about.
The intricate and delicate finishing makes every piece special. There’s always a conflict within the collection with feminine floaty pieces versus a strong bold edge. Ruffles, fur, tailored jackets, laced up boots and so much more… Love love love as always Bora Aksu xx Dawn
Lots of pictures from my night at the Superdry party and catwalk show. This year saw the London collections: Men bigger and busier then I think I recalled it ever being. Lots more publicity and social media coverage created an electric atmosphere out on the streets before the show.It was the old sorting office which played host to the Superdry event. There were cocktails flowing freely, a very cool DJ stand and lots and lots of people. Including some very famous celebrities (spot them in my pics on front row) As the white doors parted, a jet black catwalk was exposed to showcase the Superdry A/W14 collection. Street wear for both men an woman were on show. Edgy, cool and laid back. A great atmosphere before, during and after the show left you on a high. Thank you Superdry for a fabulous night xx
Look at me fashion at the Ashish show- sequin carrier bags were one of my faves but the coca cola vest won my affections.Fabulous.
Coca cola queen at the Ashish show.
HOLLY FULTON CATWALK SHOW S/S14- LFW
Loved the hair at the Holly Fulton show.Big,curly and worn to the side-I used to have hair just like this. Growing up with it was hard work but I’d love to have it back now.
THE IN-BETWEEN BITS
A little snippet from the company magazine lfw street style feature.
It was a busy, busy saturday at London fashion week this year. I’m posting a few pictures from the events. I actually missed a few presentations/shows due to traffic hold ups and me chatting too much. I did manage to squeeze in visiting the handpicked media team at the fabulous One aldwych hotel. It was hard to leave when high tea was served in the form of mini milkshakes and candy floss and deciding on beautiful jewellery from Anna lou of london. I also got my eyebrows fixed by the hd girls. And didn’t pass up on the chance to try on a few lovely coats from super dry either. I fell in love with one in particular from the new collection. Apart from all that lovely stuff, I did get to see the Holly Fulton show which was soft and romantic with beautiful hair to the side. The Ashish show which was a complete contrast with it’s urban glitz. Cool sequin carrier bags and torn to bits sequin jeans. The hair was striped with electric colours and worn loose and messy. Two completely different looks but loved them both equally. Thank you to everyone who invited me to shows/ events. I had a fabulous day.
