I do love collecting these investment accessories. Belts have to be my major weak point when it comes to this. This Gucci belt caught my eye several weeks ago and it was love at first sight. The beautiful bee design is so unusual and pretty. I’m thinking it’ll be lovely in the summer over dresses and jackets. It’s one of those pieces I’ll keep and treasure. It’s also lovely to pass down to my little girl. She loves all the pretty things I’ve collected. Lots are put away for her to enjoy. Sunday’s are by far one of my favourite days for chilling out and enjoying my family. We love to pop around having coffee or cooking Sunday lunch. We love being together. I look forward to the weekends and being with everyone. I’m a little old fashioned like that. My family are my everything and I love sitting chatting with everyone. I tend to change a few times on a Sunday. It’s sometimes a coffee look, followed by my don’t care if i ruin it cooking look, followed by my lazy Sunday sofa look. The latter two are usually the same – sweater and jog pants !! If I’m heading out for lunch then it’s never anything to over the top. I’m more of a comfy dresser if I’m honest. My little girl is the same. She likes to change into leggings and Tee after being out. Do you have a particular outfit routine on the weekends..?
Not been actively posting too much lately. It’s been a difficult start to the year. It’s hard to get focused when so much is going on. Having lost two members of my family in the short space of time and for lots of other things to go the complete opposite of the way you planned. Is hard to shift the mood. I’m not one to go to deep and personal on my social but this is real life and this is what we all face day to day. It’s never easy. And when you loose people in your family circle it takes time to adjust and refocus.
Throwing myself into fashion has always been a good way of coping for me. This time I did need a little head space before taking pics and posting blogs. I’m really looking forward to Spring and the long light nights of summer. I tried a few summer pieces on that I just couldn’t get in the mood for purely because of the bad weather we are still having here in the UK. It’s hard to try pretty tops and dresses on when it’s still so cold and miserable outside. It is such a good time to pick up pretty things for the summer wardrobe but like I said it can be hard to get your head into that place after such a long time wrapped up for winter.
So on another note this is my outfit from the weekend. Putting a few classics together for a laid back look. Classic black and gold with a suede mack worked pretty well for me. I love the high waist jeans too. Sometimes they can make you look bigger around the hips and belly but who cares really hahah. It’s all about being happy and dressing how you want. At the end of the day there are no rules as long as your happy tHat’s all that matters.
I#ve always been crazy about lace. When it comes pretty and delicate I’m even happier. And when I can pair it with denims ten I’m in heaven. Dressed it down here with a long line cardigan but it’s fabulous with skirts and trousers too. Check out my instagram for more pics of how I styled it on my night out last week. I’m slowly getting ready for the festive season. I can’t believe it’s almost upon us. It only feels lie summer ended. Are you getting ready… planning outfits for parties and celebrations is so exciting. I’m loving all the gorgeous velvets, lace and sequins
. I’ve listed a few of my favourite things on my wish list below.
I’m so happy that velvet is in abundance this year. From jackets to bags and shoes..the crush on velvet is in full flow. I love the richness it brings to an outfit. It has always been a fave of mine. It can look extravagant and expensive. It’s beautiful in pretty much every colour too. Striking and luxurious comes to mind whenI see velvet. I love the tops, the ballet pumps, heels and pants in this lushus texture. I can’t say I’m overly pleased at the fact it’s Autumn but if I get to indulge in these gorgeous things then I can’t complain too much…. well no just yet!! But wait till it’s freezing cold and raining everyday then you might here me moan pretty much constantly … ha ha
Statement dressing. Special pieces that last forever. I’m doing it this year with this gorgeous trophy jacket. Out and about in London so thought I’d team it up with a pair of suede heels and torn up jeans.
These kind of jackets are great for day-to-night dressing. Smart or casual as I’ve done here. It’s a great staple piece. It’s a great time to be investing in this type of thing. Sales and massive reductions mean you can get your hands on some pretty amazing stuff but for a snippet of the price. I love the sales. And there are plenty of them this year. I find it easier online to shop them. I went in store in London yesterday and it was totally exhausting and I couldn’t find what I was looking for. There are pro’s and cons to both. The downside to online is not being able to try the things on before you buy… the dreaded waiting for the refund but it’s calm and relaxing and fun browsing the fashion pages. Then there’s the joy of trying things on there and then but with the drama of picking through the rails. I’ve had the best success this year online. Have you found anything nice yet? I’d definitely go for a trophy jacket, shoes or a handbag as a rule especially when I’ve been saving for something. Happy shopping guys. (I’ve listed a few of my favourite sales belw)
