Happy is an understatement. It’s Spring at last !!Although the weather still isn’t great it good to know we are emerging into sunnier, longer days. Music to my ears. Long warm sunny days…I’m so excited for the clocks to go forward this Sunday. Double bonus it’s mothers day too.The feeling of spring is one of the best feelings there is. Coming out of the dark. It makes life so much easier. It’s especially good for the kids. Mine participate in lots of sports, so the Evening are filled pretty much every night with something. So when the nights are light it makes everything that much easier.
This year is going by so quickly. These first few months have vanished. It’s definitely time to start buying the summer wardrobe. Before you know it we will be in the middle of summer and looking for swimsuits and shorts for our holidays. Sounds amazing. I’ve been looking around on the high street and there are such pretty tops and dresses around for summer. Its hard to buy something that you know you can’t wear here and now. But if you don’t get it now then they are gone. Re-using summer clothing is always a good thing too. I’ve got dresses and shorts from years ago that I still take away with me on holiday.
I do love collecting these investment accessories. Belts have to be my major weak point when it comes to this. This Gucci belt caught my eye several weeks ago and it was love at first sight. The beautiful bee design is so unusual and pretty. I’m thinking it’ll be lovely in the summer over dresses and jackets. It’s one of those pieces I’ll keep and treasure. It’s also lovely to pass down to my little girl. She loves all the pretty things I’ve collected. Lots are put away for her to enjoy. Sunday’s are by far one of my favourite days for chilling out and enjoying my family. We love to pop around having coffee or cooking Sunday lunch. We love being together. I look forward to the weekends and being with everyone. I’m a little old fashioned like that. My family are my everything and I love sitting chatting with everyone. I tend to change a few times on a Sunday. It’s sometimes a coffee look, followed by my don’t care if i ruin it cooking look, followed by my lazy Sunday sofa look. The latter two are usually the same – sweater and jog pants !! If I’m heading out for lunch then it’s never anything to over the top. I’m more of a comfy dresser if I’m honest. My little girl is the same. She likes to change into leggings and Tee after being out. Do you have a particular outfit routine on the weekends..?
I love the ever growing face of fashion. When denim has a face lift and turns itself into beautiful pieces of art then you know there’s so much more to come. It’s so exciting to think of all the ways we can celebrate our clothes and dressing. Denim is such an everyday piece of clothing and something I wear every day. To have it adorned with such prettiness and to explore a softer side makes me very happy. The trend has been creeping in for some time but I really think it’s here to stay .
There’s nothing boring about the way our denim or leathers for that fact are being treated. I love the jeans that have been painted on too. I love the pretty floral designs and colours. Classics reworked for modern day dressing !! Oh how I love living in this era. We get to enjoy so much more then ever before. Is there anything your loving at the moment? It’s soon to be summer, so I’m sure there will be lots more goodies I’ll be adding to my wishlist. Hope your having a fab week… Xx Dawn
I’m crazy about shoes that look like slippers. Especially when they are black velvet and even more when they have a cute bow detail. The joy of Spring brings the joy of wearing anything on the feet. Toes out, heels out, what ever you want. All that’s needed is a nice pedicure and it’s time to slip into something fresh on the feet. Thankfully it’s goodbye boots and hello to summer shoes. These kind look great with cropped jeans and of course mini skirts and shorts intact they look great with just about anything. Dress them up or down these are for sure one of my favourite styles for summer. Have a great week.
Not been actively posting too much lately. It’s been a difficult start to the year. It’s hard to get focused when so much is going on. Having lost two members of my family in the short space of time and for lots of other things to go the complete opposite of the way you planned. Is hard to shift the mood. I’m not one to go to deep and personal on my social but this is real life and this is what we all face day to day. It’s never easy. And when you loose people in your family circle it takes time to adjust and refocus.
Throwing myself into fashion has always been a good way of coping for me. This time I did need a little head space before taking pics and posting blogs. I’m really looking forward to Spring and the long light nights of summer. I tried a few summer pieces on that I just couldn’t get in the mood for purely because of the bad weather we are still having here in the UK. It’s hard to try pretty tops and dresses on when it’s still so cold and miserable outside. It is such a good time to pick up pretty things for the summer wardrobe but like I said it can be hard to get your head into that place after such a long time wrapped up for winter.
So on another note this is my outfit from the weekend. Putting a few classics together for a laid back look. Classic black and gold with a suede mack worked pretty well for me. I love the high waist jeans too. Sometimes they can make you look bigger around the hips and belly but who cares really hahah. It’s all about being happy and dressing how you want. At the end of the day there are no rules as long as your happy tHat’s all that matters.
