Catwalk to closet is here!! It happened at Burberry and Topshop unique at London fashion week. Within 24 hours of it being seen on the runways they were on the rails. Obtainable instantly with a click of a button. I really like the concept and I guess it’s a way of getting the buyer to buy the item when they see it rather then it going from their minds and the brands trying to capture your interest again several months later. There’s no time to wait and fashion is moving fast. The competition is mounting and to be able to get people to buy it the moment they see and lust it is the key !!
I fell in love with this floral blouse. The colours and vintage feel captured me and the novelty of being able to wear something that literally was just on the runway took hold and I pressed the buy button. Glad I did as its such a pretty piece and one I can just wear with jeans or shorts.
It’s always nice to have a blouse at hand. It’s a wardrobe staple and one you can reuse. Dress them up or down they are a piece in themselves. My kind of dressing if I’m honest. Something that looks nice but with minimum effort.
Military can sometimes be a little hard so I’ve softened the look with a few feminine touches of lace, tapestry and I’ve clinched in my waist with a wide velvet belt. Wide belts are top of my lust list at the moment. It’s probably one of my favourite ways to style up a look. Over jackets, cardigans or dresses. I’m sure it’s not the last time you’ll see me wearing a waist clincher like this one.
It was a pretty wet start to the day but it was brightened up with a lovely lunch and a handful of beautiful shows.
Prior to leaving the everyday juggling of family affairs occurred. That’s a military operation in itself. It can be a bit of a drama at times. But I guess it’s worth it when you get to enjoy a lovely day. Going to fashion week was always my goal when I first started my blog. I never stray to far away from my purpose. So I’m always happy to sit there and watch the front row antics and catwalk fashions. It’s a dream come true for me. A special day out that I really appreciate.
As a mother I often feel pulled in every direction especially when there’s so much to do and my family to consider. I sometimes feel I’m way to hard on myself. I love to achieve and do well in my work but I also love to be there everyday for my children. I sometimes need to be in four places at once. It’s a tough call at times and I often miss out on great opportunities so I can be there for my kids instead. That doesn’t make me sad but it can often feel frustrating. I guess I just want to be doing a good job all round for everyone. It’s a lot to take on at times. Women are doing so much these days. We fit into so many roles.I know men your do your thing too ( I praise you too). But the role of being a women has definitely changed and become a much bigger one. We are pretty super human in my opinion and I respect all that are doing their very best on a day to day basis. It’s not easy, so take five and be kind to yourself. Your doing a great job just being you.So on that note have a great week. Wear what you love and enjoy your life. xx Dawn
A dreamy show that was out of this world. The most beautiful silhouettes. All so pretty and perfect. There wasn’t a look I didn’t love. From start to finish everything was wow. Rich creamy creams, clean pretty plaits and dewy soft make up. The show oozed class and sophistication. Playful ruffles and tailoring gave the perfect balance to grown up dressing. A 80′s vibe ran through the show with a stunning version of the Ra Ra skirt. Over sized bows on dresses and jackets with shoulder pads. Those combined with plaits, peep toe trainers and duffle bags. I absolutely loved this collection.
