New season calls for a few new season updates. Simple things such as a scarf and belt can help transform everyday wardobe staples. Our jeans, shirts and jackets can be up-dated instantly with a few key accessories.
I love these skinny scarfs and studded cowboy style belts. Team the pieces together for a assemble the pices together to create a new look. I’ve gone for a little Saint Laurent feel to my look. I love finding high street pieces I can create a runway look with. Talking of runways..it’s fashion season. New york fashion week stats this week and then it’s London !! Can’t wait to see the new looks coming of the runway. It’s also time to start thinking about outfits. Accessorise is a good place to start.
Have a super awesome week xx Dawn
Monochrome edge. Decided to go with something a little different for today’s look. Sharp dressing with a statement piece. Quite nice to go out in something different to my usual. Dressing to your mood can be fun. Definitely got a mood on me here. ha ha. Pulled my hair back which I can now do that I’ve gone that much blonder. Finished the look with the cult Celine sunnies. There’s so much you can do with dressing. It’s good to step out the box now and then and try something new. Hope your having a good week. The weekend is nearly here.. again.

Quick visit to London to start the week. Nice to get some time out and clear the head. It’s been such a hectic time personally. So many things happening right now. Most;y mother duties.Which is a good thing as I love spending time with my kids and helping them progressive. However having a cheeky day out to London is always good for the soul.
It’s also been the first chance I’ve had to wear this goegeous suede trench. The rain decided to stop so I decided to go with beige footwear and cover up.Christmas pressie’s that i’ve not been able to use until now AARRRGH
These trenches are great for the coming spring season. Transitional dressing is on my mind… and now I’ve just seen all the latest new arrivals I’m desperate to indulge in summer dressing. There are so many beautiful pieces out there at the moment. It’s hard to know wether to buy new arivals or last pieces from the sale. Both !1 ha ha thats the best idea. But I think with a choice it would have to be a sneaky new season piece. xx Have a great week.
Been a while since my last post. The weeks just seem to go by so quickly and so much happens day to day. I’ve been so busy I’ve not had achance to post. I’ve been indulging in a little seventies fashion here. Full look with aviators, leather bomber, tank and flared jeans. Also kept everything black. I do love that look. I always seem to be drawn to a flared jean. They can be hard to wear. But I do love the classic look. I’m on the hunt for a smart trouser.. I’m thinking flares are the way to go. I love all colours too.Have a great week xx Dawn
The New Year is the perfect excuse for a new beginning. Healthy eating, getting fit and getting rid of all the bad habits. We are nearly a week in already and I’ve been trying really hard to improve my diet and training program. Seeing as I did nothing before anything is going to be an improvement. It’s going to be a long, hard road but I’m really determined to improve my body shape, eat a better diet and get fit. I’m really enjoying being focused. It’s a great distraction to the fact it’s the most depressing month of the year. I’ve not even noticed it’s so blue, because I’ve been enjoying planning my training diary and trying out new smoothies with pretty much anything and everything. It’s easy to go too hard too soon. So I’m trying to ease myself in, so that I don’t get burnt out and get bored within a few weeks. I really want this to be the start of a better more exciting lifestyle. Getting fit means being able to take part in more life activities. Having turned 40 a few weeks ago I’ve got a new energy for enjoying new activities ans joining in with my kids and their training schedules. I can’t do track anymore as my knees are completely finished. Agony to run on them so I have to look at other ways to be cardio fit and burn the calories. I’m really keen to tone up more then anything. Being strong is also important to me, so I’ll enjoy doing weight training but not to the point where I develop too much muscle. I’ve been starting off with skipping. Trying to to 10 minutes to start. That doesn’t sounds like much but when your trying to maintain a decent pace it burns pretty quickly. Going thru the burn is all about mental attitude. Do’t be afraid to have a little pain. Obviously not the dangerous type .. more of the muscle burn ( lactic acid ) type. I’ve been doing conditioning exercises using my body weight. I will slowly introduce small dumbbells but for now I’m doing 3 sets of 20 exercises. Sit ups, press us, squats, squat thrusts & tricep dips. I’ve been punching pads and a speed ball to get my heart rate up.I’ve done 25 minutes so far and will steadily increase that when I start feeling stronger.
As for my diet I’ve been enjoying smoothies. I’ve stopped eating diary. This is because it really doesn’t work for my body. It’s taken me a long time to discover these things. I wish I knew more when I was competing professionally. I might of found it easier to loose the weight. It was very intense being an athlete and I put a lot of expectations on myself. It’s not an easy world. Dreams are often crushed and you come against people who want to break you. You really have to be tough and strong minded to over come adversity. I have to say being an athlete set me up with a great determination and resilience. I find it hard to quit. It’s not what I ever did. I only wish I had the knowledge back then.. maybe others might not of been so keen to be so bullying!!! It wasn’t easy fighting for selections, fighting against the weight, being left out of teams, missing out on championships, injuries and soooo much more.Nothing comes easy and I tell my children this. You have to sometimes fight for what you want. It comes with hard work… years of it!!! Rewards don’t always come straight away. So that’s the same for me now. I have to be patient and accepting that the things I want will take a while to come but if I stick to it I should be ok.
Join me on my journey. I’m posting lots over on instagram. Maybe we can do it together. Let me know what your doing. Share your training plans here with me. Or great ideas for what to eat etc. Happy workout xx Dawn
So the New year is at last here. December was certainly a busy month. I hope you had a great time celebrating. I really enjoyed the time with family and friends. We had so much fun. But now it’s time to start a new year and …. a new wardrobe ha ha.
Yes Spring will be looming.. I’m so happy to say it. Coming out of the dark is the best feeling. Looking forward to booking holidays and adding little treasures to the S/S wardrobe.I’ll still be wearing my favourite piece thou. The cardigan. Such a fab piece for any season. I love them. I’ve worn these long line cardigans through the winter with pretty much everything. Dressing them up or down. They are just the perfect layering and transitional piece for any wardrobe. Have a great start to the new year. It feels like such a drag some days. Back to mundane everyday ‘stuff’ but we might as well enjoy it !!!! The best way for me is with fashion, travel and my family. I hope 2016 brings lots of joy and many beautiful wardrobe pieces … xx Dawn
