A little weekend dressing inspiration. I posted this look over on nstagram few weeks ago but only just got around to blogging it here. I have an obsession with coats and jackets this time of year. With so many to chose from it becomes a bit of an issue which one to buy. With such long winters and so many different occasions to wear them, one is never enough. I love these long easy dressing kind. Perfect for layering. Soft and comfortable is the key when dressing for autumn/winter.The high street is a great place to buy these types of coats. Not spending hundreds of pounds on just one means you can buy more to suit your purpose/occasion. Have a great sunday xx Dawn
Though the weathers pretty miserable I really don’t want to cover up from head to toe to early on.. it’s still only August. So these boots are the perfect piece to transition into Autumn with. Great with skirts and dresses. A little skin on show is just right for now. Besides there’s always layering when wearing clothes like this, long cardigans and light weight trenches are good for now. Especially on wet or miserable days. There’s no reason not to wear skirts or shorts in these next few months. This look is boho but with added glamour. Thanks to the over load of black and gold jewels. These heavy accessories and use of the colour mix is always good for giving an outfit and expensive feel. This look is total high street. I’ve added pieces below in the shop the post featre to re-created the look. It’s always fun finding pieces abd playing around with what suits you best. They are all good staple pieces. The black blouse is something you can wear everyday with pretty much anything. The same for a black skirt nd boots of course. Happy outfit sorting cxx Dawn
I just wanted to post up a quick picture from the other evening when I was out for dinner. I was capturing my make up look over on instagram but thought I’d share it here too. I’ve been trying a few new products recently from the tom ford range. The illuminating primer in peach and the new illuminating highlight powder duo. When used together they give a beautiful radiant glow. I’ve worked in two blusher colours (ravish and savage) to help contour and give depth, then added the highlighting duo powder over the cheek to give a beautiful glow to my look. It’s hard to capture it fully with just and iPhone and an outreached hand but I’ve been really happy with the effects. I’ve used my favourite eyeko eyeliner here. I received it to trial the other week and now I don’t go a day without it. It’s so easy to apply. You can get a thick line if you want for a real cat eye or go gently and get a fine line to follow the contours of the eyelid. I also use a soft eyeliner pencil for the lower line smudged in with a brush. It just softens the look for me. Mascara in black to finish the eyes. I tend not to wear a lot of make up but would love to learn more about applying it to get great results. that last the whole day/night I know there’s a lot more I can do but its a work in progress like everything, getting things right takes time. But I do love trying new products and hopefully sharing them here. If you have any great products you think I should know about please feel free to share them below. Happy sunday. xx Dawn
A few weekend accessories. My favourite make up pieces and easy flats for a little weekend ease. Added glamour with a pair of dropped earrings and bracelet. A hat is always useful for a bad hair day or just to finish an outfit. Chic weekend dressing . I had to include the makeup as these are two of my favourite additions to my make up bag. The new tom ford primer in peach makes skin look even and clear and worn with the highlighter skin looks translucent and fresh.
Soft mix of creams and caramels. I love these coffee and caramel tones . Either overloaded together or combined with softer shades for a summer feel. Light weight trenches are great for this time of year. The transition to autumn dressing is high on the agenda at the moment. Lots of new pieces slowly seeping through on the high street. It’s hard to know what to wear when the weather is so up and down. Thats why I’m really liking these toneS- they can be worn for both seasons. Have a great weekend xx Dawn
A little impromptu photo shoot on a night out. I couldn’t resist the beautiful back drop and capturing this cute suede outfit. Channelling the 60′s/70′s era with this A-line suede dress and suede knee highs. My sister enjoyed referring to films and songs that my outfit suited.Scooby doo, avengers and most favoured.. Austin powers. I love these 60′s inspired dresses. And suede has always been one of my favourite fabrics to create a classy and luxurious feel to an outfit. These strong tones are great to clash together too. I barely added anything in the way of accessories as the outfit says everything I want it too. I Hope you’ve had a great weekend. xx Dawn
I’m totally in love with these camel shades. Such a great colour for all seasons and one which can be paired with pretty much any other colour. The perfect staple piece has to be a camel trench/jacket/coat. I love them all. Transitional pieces are the things to look out for now. Pieces that will carry you through the next seasons. These trench style coats are great for that purpose. Layering them is also a good idea. You can always wear one under a heavy coat in the deep winter. Not that I like to think too much about cold days…..especially when we are still waiting for summer to reach us here in Wales.
Easy weekend dressing for coffee catch ups and window browsing. Wore this simple jeans and sandals combo for a laid back saturday. Love the colour combo with gold, red and cream. Added a beige sunglass instead of my usual heavy black rims. Hope you had a great weekend. We’ve hit August already.. can’t believe how quick this year has gone. And it seems as thou the sun is going to continue to allude us. Thankful for the odd summers day here and there. But in reality I’ve worn none of my summer clothes. It’s particularly boring for the kids summer hols. It’s such a shame that the weathers no good as the coast is only a short drive away. No such luck to have lazy summer days at the beach.
Soft nudes and neutral shades are perfect for summer. Add with any color and bingo. Love these high waisted shorts, had them from last year but not been able to wear them (due to weather conditions) until now. Tucked a little off the shoulder number in and a way to go. The sun is out today so I can’t spend too long typing here. I’ve got the day to catch. So have a great weekend. Catch me over on instgram for lots more outfit pics. Lots of love Dawn
Well it’s been a pretty poor summer here in the UK. Proof came when I had to wear these knee high boots and long coat. Not only wet but cold too. I was supposed to be away in France, so I was feeling even worse about the weather. I had to cancel a planned trip with family and friends as I was ill throughout the week. Not the best situation and one that leaves you feeling a little bit miserable. Not helped by the fact we’ve had very little summer. I think I’ve worn shorts twice at a push. So to conquer the crappy weather I pulled out a few autumn/ winter pieces from last year. I’m not ready to buy new season AW just yet.And there’s no need when there are things well kept from seasons before. Especially good when they are still on trend. Knee high boots are a winter must and the cute mini skirt dress is also a good investment for AW. Oh the thought of heading straight into winter leaves me in a deeper state of misery. Ha ha. Have a great sunday xx Dawn
I was wearing all last season but certain pieces are still available. I’ve linked them below where I could.
