It’s the time of year for summer events. I’ve just been sitting down looking at all the amazing events taking place in the UK this summer. So many beautiful venues to attend, where some pretty amazing things are happening. It’s the perfect opportunity to show off your summer wardrobe. One of the things I’d love to do this year is Ascot. I have always had so much fun doing the grand national. So I’m thinking something fun like this would be a great day out. Not that I’m a huge horse racing fan, but I do love these special occasions.Watching the horses run is so exciting and reminds me of the competitiveness I used to be involved in. The Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot 2015 is something I was looking at. I love the big races. It’s exciting and a great day to for fashion fabulous. Going with a picnic and wine would be just about perfect. As long as the sun is shining of course. What to wear to events like these can sometimes be challenging and it can be a little over whelming with the dress codes and the day etiquette. How short the dress? how high should I wear my heels? all the imporant things ha ha. I always like to dress comfortably at these events. If your standing alot or having to sit on the grass wearing something suitable is key when thinking of what to wear. I don’t want to compromise on the beauty side of things though. The whole point of days like this is dressing up and going with friends and family for a glamorous day out. Special occasion dressing is something we come up against this time of year. But I guess it’s actually all part of the day itself. Hair, make-up and dresses.. I cant wait !!!
I’ve been wearing a lot of black lately. I’ve been a little bored with the strong colours at the moment so relying on my old faithful – the all black look. I’ve added a little spice with the metallic vest and studded sandals but thats about it. Not venturing too much in the heavy colours for summer- not just yet anyway. But you never know, next week could be something completely different. For now thou I’m playing it simple.
I love metallics worn alone against skin tones. Especially good in the summer and for the beach. I can’t wait to enjoy a little warmer sunshine and go with out the jacket but it’s not quite there yet. Wearing sandals is a summer time favourite of mine- these rockstud gladiators are very glamorous and great for dressing up a simple jeans outfit. Hope your all having a good weekend. Catch up next week when I might wear something other then black xx Dawn
Layering up these gorgeous pieces to create today’s look. This handkerchief top enables a great pair of shorts to slightly show through. The sheer, lace and ruffled detailing to the jacket can turn a simple outfit into something a bit more dramatic.I absolutely love adding these types of textures and detailing to a look. Lace has always been a big part of my wardrobe. You could go for an all out lace look or you could go with just a glimpse of lace. That’s the joy of layering pieces, you can have as much or as little as you want or as suits the mood. It’s the start of the summer season so there’s plenty of reasons to add this kind of detailing. I find summer easier for this kind of dressing. Not having to hide all these gorgeous pieces under jumpers or coats is my idea of getting dressed up. Happy weekend dressing. xx Dawn
The what shall I wear today dilemma..? problem solved. Black. Always the fail safe option no matter what situation. Day to day or special occasion. The head-to-toe all black look is probably the safest bet. When in doubt go with this classic all black look. Maybe throw on a fancy pair of shoes something embellished or a just a simple pop of colour, a classic handbag and the daily dilemma of what to wear is just about sorted. Classic pieces to keep safe in the wardrobe are always a good place to start if your wondering what to buy? I’m on the look out for a classic pair of black trousers. Something I can pull on with ease and looks great with just about anything . Finding the right shape can be the hardest part. You might go through twenty pairs before you hit the jackpot but I guess thats sometimes the fun of a little shopping trip or an online shopping indulgence. Dawn xx
